Does my phone support eSIM?

Most phones from 2019 onwards do (iPhone XS and newer, Google Pixel 3 and newer, Samsung Galaxy S20 and newer). The phone must also be carrier-unlocked. Dial *#06# — if you see an EID number, your phone supports eSIM.

When should I install it?

Install it a day before you travel while you’re on Wi-Fi. The plan starts when it connects to a network in the destination.

Can I keep my normal number?

Yes. Your usual SIM stays in the phone for calls and SMS (e.g. WhatsApp keeps working), while the eSIM is used for mobile data.
