Lines and stations
Three lines are open. The Orange Line began preview service in January 2022 and was fully open by April 2024. The Pink Line opened in April 2024. The Turquoise Line opened on 6 January 2025 with 10 stations, including Lusail QNB, Downtown Lusail, Fox Hills, Rawdat Lusail, Erkiyah and Lusail Stadium.
The Purple Line is part of the plan but was not open in the latest updates we found. When complete, the network will have 25 stations on four lines and about 19 km of track.
You can change to the Doha Metro Red Line at Legtaifiya and Lusail QNB.
Tickets and fares
The tram uses the same Travel Cards and passes as the Doha Metro. A Standard trip costs QAR 2, with a daily cap of QAR 6. Passes for 7 or 30 days also work on the tram. Fares can change.
The tram has no Gold Club section. Gold Club card holders can ride in the regular section.
How to pay
Buy a Travel Card at metro or tram station machines, Gold Club offices or licensed retailers. Top up at machines, on the Qatar Rail website or in the app.
Tap your card when you board and when you leave. A trip that combines metro and tram is charged as one fare.
Tips for travellers
The tram is useful for events at Lusail Stadium and for Place Vendome and the Lusail waterfront. Expect crowds on event days.
Friday service starts in the afternoon. Check the Qatar Rail journey planner for the latest hours.
Free Metroexpress rides, booked in the Karwa app, link some Orange and Pink Line stations with nearby areas.
Last checked: October 2026. Fares and timetables change, so confirm on the official website before you travel.
