Routes and stations
Blue Bus runs from Cairo and Giza to Hurghada, Sahl Hasheesh, Sharm El Sheikh, Dahab, Alexandria, Luxor, Sohag and Marsa Matrouh. In summer it adds seasonal lines to the North Coast, including El Alamein.
Cairo boarding points include Ramses, Almaza and Maadi. In Alexandria buses use Sidi Gaber. Your ticket shows the exact station.
Classes
Classes range from Comfort and Easy up to Business and First Class Premium. Higher classes offer more legroom and, on some routes, a snack. Not every class runs on every route.
Tickets and fares
Fares are in Egyptian pounds and depend on destination and class. Prices change with fuel costs and season, so check the website before booking.
How to book
Book on the Blue Bus website, where you can register and pay online, or call the hotline on 16128. Third-party agencies such as 12Go also list Blue Bus trips.
Tips for travellers
Some routes have only one or two departures a day, so book ahead in holidays and summer. Long trips to Sinai pass security checkpoints and may run late.
Bring your passport or ID, a warm layer for the air conditioning, and water for long journeys.
Blue Bus says it uses technology across the journey, from booking to arrival. Reviews on agency sites are mixed, mentioning late departures on some trips, so leave a buffer before flights.
