Routes and stations
Most trips start in Cairo or Giza. Main routes go to Alexandria, Hurghada and El Gouna, Sharm El Sheikh and Dahab, Luxor, Marsa Matrouh, Ain Sokhna and Marsa Alam.
In Cairo, buses call at several stations such as Abdel Moneim Riad near Tahrir, Giza, Nasr City and Almaza. In Alexandria, stops include Sidi Gaber and Moharam Bek. Check your exact boarding point on the ticket.
Classes
Classic is the cheapest, with air conditioning and a shared screen. Deluxe classes add Wi-Fi. Elite Plus and Business offer wider seats, personal screens, charging points, snacks and an on-board toilet.
Go Mini is a minibus used mainly on Cairo–Alexandria. The app shows the facilities of each bus with icons.
Tickets and fares
Fares are in Egyptian pounds and depend on route, class and season. Higher classes cost noticeably more. Check the live price in the app before you travel.
How to book
You can book on the Go Bus website in Arabic or English, in the iPhone or Android app, or at a station counter. Online, you pick your seat and pay by card.
Save the e-ticket on your phone and bring ID.
Tips for travellers
Arrive at least 15 minutes early. Long routes to Sinai and the Red Sea include security checkpoints, so trips can run late.
Air conditioning is strong, so bring a layer. Not every bus has a toilet; rest stops are made on long trips. Keep valuables with you.
