Routes and stations
FlixBus covers most of Western, Central and Eastern Europe, with many cross-border lines between major cities and capitals. The network also reaches the United States (through Greyhound), Mexico, Brazil, India and Australia.
Stops are not always in a central bus station. In some cities the bus stops at a street stop, an airport or a car park. Check the exact stop address in your booking before you travel.
Tickets and fares
Prices follow demand. A seat booked weeks ahead can cost much less than the same seat a day before. Weekend and holiday trips sell faster.
Your ticket includes one small hand bag up to 42 x 30 x 18 cm and 7 kg, and one hold bag up to 80 x 50 x 30 cm and 20 kg. Some lines have exceptions, so check during booking.
You can add one extra bag (same size limits) for a fee. Bulky items up to 240 cm total size and 30 kg are paid and space is limited. Furniture, electrical appliances and most animals are not allowed.
How to book
Book on the FlixBus website or app. Search your cities and date, choose a departure, add luggage or a seat reservation if you want, then pay by card or another online method.
The ticket is a QR code. Show it on your phone or on paper to the driver. Bring the passport or ID used in the booking. On cross-border trips the driver or police may check documents.
Tips for travellers
Arrive 15 to 20 minutes early. Buses can leave on time and the driver will not wait.
Night buses save a hotel night but can be tiring for families with children. Book a seat reservation if you want to sit together.
There is no fixed prayer stop. Long trips usually include short breaks at service stations, so plan prayers around them. During Ramadan, carry water and dates for iftar on board.
Schengen rules apply. If you hold a Schengen visa, make sure every country on the route is covered and that you do not leave the Schengen area by mistake.
