Routes and stations
Greyhound links about 2,400 places across North America, from big cities to small towns. Long trips can take a day or more and often include a change of bus.
Some cities have a full bus terminal; others have only a kerbside stop. Greyhound and FlixBus have been moving stops in some cities, for example to downtown transit hubs. Always check the exact stop address on your ticket.
Tickets and fares
Prices change with demand. Booking early and travelling midweek is usually cheaper. Cheaper tickets can have stricter rules for changes and refunds, so read the fare conditions.
Children's car seats and strollers travel free and do not count towards your bag allowance.
How to book
Book on greyhound.com or in the app, and show the ticket on your phone. You can also buy at staffed stations.
If you need an extra or bulky bag, add it online when booking, in Manage My Booking, or at a staffed station before departure. Bulky items must not exceed 95 inches in combined length, width and height.
Tips for travellers
Arrive early, because seats are often first come, first served on board. Keep valuables, medicine and documents in your carry-on.
Night buses save on a hotel but can be tiring. For long distances, compare total cost and time with Amtrak or a budget flight.
Bring a jacket, as buses can be cold, and a power bank in case sockets do not work.
